Pura Tirta Empul is considered one of the most sacred temples in Bali as Balinese people believe that it holds magical power within. The spring bubbles up into large, crystal-clear tank within the temple, formed by God of Indra to heal his dying armies that fell from Mayadenawa, the evil king. It is a place that is famous for its holy water ritual where everyone can dive into a large pool and lined up to the pouring of holy water. For that, the temple itself holds a very sacred ambience. To get there, it takes only 30 minutes drive from The Udaya with normal traffic.
Bali Mas Village, a village known for its artistic ethnic wood carving. Considered as the bridge between humanism and naturalism, here, you will be able to learn more about wood carving and how precious it is, especially to the society of Bali. The village has produced Bali's biggest name in wood carving and continues to pass on the legacy to younger and newer stars. In this ancient village, you may observe and even learn from the masters themselves about one or two things about wood carving!
Ubud’s representative of waterfall site, Tegenungan Waterfall, is located in Sukawati district. It takes around 10-minutes walk down to the main star from the entrance, where the verdant valley surrounding the beautiful cascade breathes. Just like any other waterfall, people aims to swim to the freshening water pond just below the falls. Or one can simply stand face to face with the mother nature’s gift and still get the best experience from there.
One of the famous agro-tourism in Bali is coffee plantation, with the one nearest to our hotel; Alas Harum in Tegallalang. Pura Taman Saraswati or known also as Ubud Water Palace is one of the most popular landmarks of Ubud. The most notable feature of the temple is its lotus pond and water garden, marking the outer area of the actual temple. Plumeria (frangipani) trees decorate the edges of the pond, while the straight bridge-like access is decorated with paras (volcanic tuff) sculptures of Hindu mythological figures. There is also Balinese Dance that performed regularly there. Pura Saraswati Ubud has a stage to eradicate Balinese dance such as the Kecak dance. Stage performances are surrounded by lotus ponds. Balinese dance performances are performed at Saraswati Ubud Temple with different types of dance every night. Except on Friday, there are no Balinese dance performances to watch.
